During his time at Harrow, he started two schools in China.He then helped establish the London Academy of Excellence in East London, one of the most successful state sixth form Academies, where he is chairman of governors. He is chairman of the Independent Schools Council, which supports 1400 private schools in the UK, and has been a governor of 25 state and independent schools. He was a member of the board of Ofqual during the implementation of the reforms to GCSEs and A-levels and is now on their Standards Advisory Committee.Barnaby read Geography at Keble College, Oxford, then went on to St Johns College, Cambridge to train for a career in teaching. He has written six books including, Much Promise,about high-achieving state schools, and Other People’s Children, about the least academic 50% in England. The theme at this years RAISE wasPromoting Schools Cross-National Collaboration and Communication.The forum explored topics including schools development strategies, building educational communities, the influence of education technology, and how to nurture creative life-long learners, to find whats common among schools from different regions and countries.The conference had over 100guest speakers from 20countries with more than 2000participants from more than 300 bilingual and international schools to discuss together the future of the international education in Asia. The conference format included forums, social dinner, art exhibitionand education resources expo.Eurus had a booth at the education resources expo where we met many leaders from schools around Asia and spoke to them about the services that we can offer in teacher recruitment. It was encouraging to hear schools talk about their own needs and challenges in recruiting the right teacher for their school.

    2020-10-31~2020-11-02 RAISE 2020 3rd Asia International School ConferenceThe 3rd Asia International School Conference RAISE 2020 was held in Shanghai between 31 October and 2 November. Over 120 guests and school representatives from more than 20 countries discussed topics relating to school management, talent training, curriculum integration, social innovation and lifelong learning, future learning trends and technology-driven educational reforms. A lot of focus was also devoted to conversations about teachers professional development and building harmony between school education and attitudes toward education at home. As one of the selected international education recruitment providers, Eurus representatives attended the RAISE conference for the second consecutive year and were featured alongside other top providers at the exhibition centre. During the two-day conference, we received a large number of recruitment enquiries from international schools, as well as a lot of personal questions from attending international school practitioners.The school recruitment requirements include hiring Chinese and international principals, academic leaders and Chinese and international teachers. The schools pay particular importance to multicultural awareness, experience and professional background when hiring for management positions, whilst the requirements for subject teachers focus more on professional background and previous teaching experience. The school leaders who spoke to Eurus representatives were impressed by Eurus’ rigorous and efficient recruitment process and their strong data pool of bilingual and international education talents. The professional development of teachers in international schools was one of the key themes of this conference. Eurus representatives attended this conference as one of the key events in the annual conference calendar. The theme of this years conference and the education resource expo was "keeping the spirit of Chinese education, integration between Chinese and international education, and opening up new opportunities". The topics discussed focused on leadership and operations management, international early childhood education, student core competencies, curriculum, resources and evaluation, international education investment and financing and imagining the schools of the future. The conference was attended by more than 100 domestic and international top education experts and industry practitioners who shared their experience in international school management, teaching, recruitment, curriculum design and investment and financing. In the context of global innovation and development, women have become an important force in promoting political, cultural, economic and educational progress.
